Detailed information
End of Life product, we've prepared these alternatives for you: SAS3 RAID Adapters.
The main advantage of Areca controllers is sophisticated outband management. Areca RAID controllers are equipped with a separate Ethernet port, so the controller can be easily accessed using the web interface or the command line via a LAN network (out-band management). SAP (Single Admin Portal) enables the management of multiple ARECA controllers within one network from a single administration console.
Areca controllers can be administered via the built-in McBIOS manager available at boot or via the McRAID manager with its own web console, which allows you to create and change arrays locally and remotely, and monitor the status.
Another advantage is the support of SNMP traps, which the controller sends in "humanly" readable form and SNMP MIB tree support for reading logged data using third-party tools (Nagios)
