Currently, there are two manufacturers of server processors on the market - Intel and AMD. Intel is a traditional manufacturer that has an extensive portfolio of offered products, from basic - less powerful System on Chip solutions to Xeon processors suitable for up to eight-processor systems. The new AMD Bergamo processors are primarily intended for applications where the customer will use a large number of cores. It can have up to 128 on each processor. New in the AMD portfolio are System on Chip solutions that are suitable for cost effective servers.
